Filing a TDAC takes about 5 minutes — if you have everything ready. Most errors and delays happen because travelers start the form without having their documents at hand. Gather everything on this checklist before you begin.
PRE-FILING CHECKLIST

The Complete TDAC Checklist
Passport (Physical Document)
You need the actual passport in front of you — not a photo or a scan from 3 years ago. You will enter: full name (exactly as it appears on the MRZ line), passport number, nationality, date of birth, date of issue, and expiry date. The passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your travel date.
Flight Details
You need: airline name, flight number, and date of arrival in Thailand. If you have connecting flights, use the FINAL flight number that lands in Thailand (not the first leg). For example: if you fly London → Dubai → Bangkok, enter the Dubai → Bangkok flight number.
Thai Accommodation Address
The full address of where you are staying in Thailand. This must be a real address — a hotel name, Airbnb address, or a friend/family member's address. You need: property name or street address, district/area, city, and postal code. 'Various locations' or 'traveling around' is not accepted.
Purpose of Visit
Select from: Tourism, Business, Transit, Employment, Education, or Other. Most travelers select Tourism. If you are transiting through Thailand without clearing immigration, you do not need a TDAC.
Email Address
Your QR code will be delivered to this email. Double-check it — a typo means you will not receive your confirmation. Use an email you can access from your phone at the airport.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
| Mistake | What Happens | How to Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Passport number typo | QR code will not scan at immigration | Copy directly from your MRZ line. Watch for O vs 0 (zero) |
| Name does not match MRZ | Flag at immigration counter | Use EXACTLY the name on the MRZ line, including middle names |
| Wrong arrival date | TDAC may be rejected or flagged | Use DD/MM/YYYY format. Double-check month vs day |
| Missing accommodation | Form will not submit | Have your hotel booking confirmation open before starting |
| Wrong flight number | Usually not checked but can cause issues | Use the final leg flight number that lands in Thailand |
| Email typo | No QR code delivered | Verify your email address character by character before submitting |
Filing for Families & Groups
If you are traveling with family, each person needs their own TDAC — including children and infants. On the government portal, each person must file separately. Through TDAC.info, one adult can file for up to 6 travelers in a single form.
- Children: Use the child's own passport details. For occupation, enter 'Student' (school-age) or leave blank (infants/toddlers).
- Infants: Even babies who travel on a parent's lap need their own TDAC. They must have their own passport.
- Different accommodation: If family members are staying at different addresses, each person's TDAC must reflect their actual accommodation.
What Happens After You Submit
- You receive a confirmation email within minutes (check spam if it does not appear).
- The email contains your TDAC QR code. Save it to your phone AND print a backup copy.
- At the immigration counter, show the QR code. The officer scans it, checks your passport, and stamps your entry.
- If the QR code fails to scan, the officer will direct you to refile at an airport kiosk. You will not be denied entry.
Beyond the TDAC: the 20,000 THB funds check
The TDAC never asks about money, but immigration officers can ask you to show 20,000 THB per person (40,000 THB per family) — in cash, not a banking app. Checks are random and more common at land borders. Full breakdown: 5 Red Flags That Get Travelers Denied Entry.
Pro Tip: File 72 Hours Early
We recommend filing at least 72 hours before your flight. This gives you time to double-check everything, correct any mistakes, and avoid the stress of last-minute filing. You can file up to 12 months in advance.
