Armenians in Thailand 2026:Visa Required + Matching TDAC Name

Visa rules, TDAC arrival card, customs, currency, vaccines and embassy contacts for Armenian travellers heading to Thailand in 2026.

Visa Status: Visa Required (e-Visa)

Entry Requirements

If you hold a passport from Armenia, you must submit a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entering the Kingdom of Thailand. The TDAC replaced the paper-based TM6 form and is now required for all international arrivals — regardless of your visa status or purpose of travel.

As an Armenian citizen, you need a Thai visa before travel (apply through the Thai e-Visa system). The TDAC is filed separately and does not replace the visa. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. The TDAC collects your personal details, travel information, and accommodation address in Thailand.

⚠️ Common Issue for Armenian Passport Holders

Armenian name transliteration — this is the most common reason for TDAC rejections from Armenian travelers. Our system automatically detects and corrects these issues before submission, ensuring your arrival card is accepted without delays at immigration.

How to Apply

  1. 1Have your Armenia passport ready with at least 6 months validity from your planned entry date.
  2. 2Complete the online form on TDAC.info with your personal details, travel itinerary, and accommodation address in Thailand.
  3. 3Our team reviews your submission for errors and you receive your approved QR code via email before your departure.
  4. 4Present your QR code at Thai immigration upon arrival — no paper forms needed, skip the queues.

Visa Status

Armenian citizens: Visa Required (e-Visa). Apply for the visa on the Thai e-Visa portal before you book non-refundable travel; the TDAC is filed separately.

Visa Duration for Armenian Citizens

Armenian passport holders are not visa-exempt in Thailand. Visa required from 15 Sep 2026 — apply via the Thai e-Visa system before travel. A Tourist Visa can be extended at local Immigration offices.

Flights to Thailand from Armenia

  • Yerevan (EVN) → Bangkok (via connection)

Common TDAC Mistakes by Armenian Travelers

  • Armenian passport holders need a visa before travel since 15 September 2026 — apply on the Thai e-Visa portal; the visa-on-arrival route no longer applies
  • Armenian name transliteration must match passport Latin text
  • Return ticket and hotel booking are required for the e-Visa application
Announced 17 August 2026 - phased rollout, not yet live

Auto Gates at Suvarnabhumi: Armenia Is Not on the Announced List

On 17 August 2026 Thailand approved in principle the addition of 31 more passports to the automated arrival gates at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, joining Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong. Armenia is not among them, so arrival is at a manned immigration counter as before. The Thailand Digital Arrival Card remains mandatory either way and has to be filed before you travel.

The 90-Second Version

Armenians travel to Thailand mostly for winter beach holidays and Bangkok shopping, connecting through Dubai, Doha or Moscow in 11–13 hours; there is no non-stop from Yerevan. Since 15 September 2026 Armenian passport holders need a visa before travel — the earlier visa-on-arrival route no longer applies — so the planning starts weeks before departure, not at the airport. Visa for Armenian passports: required before travel from 15 September 2026 (Thai e-Visa); there is no visa-free entry. Where you land: Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Bangkok.

What Immigration Checks on Armenian Passports

  • e-Visa in hand. Apply for a Tourist Visa on Thailand's e-Visa portal before booking non-refundable flights; the approval is sent as a PDF, and immigration checks it against your passport.
  • Return ticket and hotel. Both are required for the visa application and are checked again at the desk.
  • Proof of funds. 10,000 THB per person or 20,000 THB per family may be requested on arrival.
  • Passport validity. Six months from the date of entry, and at least one blank page for the stamp.

Your Name on the TDAC

Armenian passports print a Latin transliteration of the Armenian name and the MRZ uses it — surnames in -յան appear as -YAN or -IAN depending on the passport series. The TDAC, the e-Visa and the airline ticket must all use the MRZ spelling; a mismatch between the visa and the ticket is the most common reason Armenian travellers are held at the desk. The patronymic is not in the MRZ and should not be entered. The passport number is two letters followed by seven digits.

Staying Longer

A single-entry Tourist Visa allows a stay of up to 60 days and can be extended once by 30 days at an Immigration office for 1,900 THB. The Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow is the consular post for Armenia.

Practical Notes for Armenian Travellers

  • Cards. Armenian Visa and Mastercard cards work in Thailand; ArCa-only cards do not. Armenian drams are not exchanged in Thailand — bring US dollars or euros for the first days. Every Thai ATM charges a flat 220 THB per withdrawal.
  • Time zone. Thailand is three hours ahead of Yerevan.
  • Help in Thailand. Armenia has no embassy in Bangkok; keep scanned copies of your passport and visa on your phone and note the nearest Armenian mission before you travel.
