Entry Requirements
If you hold a passport from Egypt, you must submit a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entering the Kingdom of Thailand. The TDAC replaced the paper-based TM6 form and is now required for all international arrivals — regardless of your visa status or purpose of travel.
As an Egyptian citizen, you need a Thai visa before travel (apply through the Thai e-Visa system). The TDAC is filed separately and does not replace the visa. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. The TDAC collects your personal details, travel information, and accommodation address in Thailand.
⚠️ Common Issue for Egyptian Passport Holders
Latin spelling of Arabic names — this is the most common reason for TDAC rejections from Egyptian travelers. Our system automatically detects and corrects these issues before submission, ensuring your arrival card is accepted without delays at immigration.
How to Apply
- 1Have your Egypt passport ready with at least 6 months validity from your planned entry date.
- 2Complete the online form on TDAC.info with your personal details, travel itinerary, and accommodation address in Thailand.
- 3Our team reviews your submission for errors and you receive your approved QR code via email before your departure.
- 4Present your QR code at Thai immigration upon arrival — no paper forms needed, skip the queues.
Visa Status
Egyptian citizens: Visa Required (e-Visa). Apply for the visa on the Thai e-Visa portal before you book non-refundable travel; the TDAC is filed separately.
Visa Duration for Egyptian Citizens
Egyptian passport holders are not visa-exempt in Thailand. Visa required from 15 Sep 2026 — apply via the Thai e-Visa system before travel. A Tourist Visa can be extended at local Immigration offices.

Common TDAC Mistakes by Egyptian Travelers
- Arabic name must be translated accurately to Latin for TDAC
- A visa (e-Visa) is required before travel since 15 September 2026 — the visa-on-arrival route no longer applies
- The e-Visa, the TDAC and the airline ticket must use the same Latin spelling of the name
Auto Gates at Suvarnabhumi: Egypt Is Not on the Announced List
On 17 August 2026 Thailand approved in principle the addition of 31 more passports to the automated arrival gates at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, joining Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong. Egypt is not among them, so arrival is at a manned immigration counter as before. The Thailand Digital Arrival Card remains mandatory either way and has to be filed before you travel.

What Immigration Checks on Egyptian Passports
- e-Visa before departure. Apply for a Tourist Visa on Thailand's e-Visa portal; the approval arrives as a PDF and is checked against your passport at the desk. Airlines refuse boarding without it.
- Return ticket and hotel. Both are required for the application and are asked for again on arrival.
- Proof of funds. 10,000 THB per person or 20,000 THB per family may be requested.
- Passport validity. Six months from the date of entry and a blank page for the entry stamp.

Practical Notes for Egyptian Travellers
- Cards. Egyptian Visa and Mastercard cards need international use enabled and are subject to the bank's foreign-spend limits; bring US dollars or euros to exchange, since Egyptian pounds are not accepted by Thai money changers. Every Thai ATM charges a flat 220 THB per withdrawal.
- Time zone. Thailand is five hours ahead of Egypt in winter and four in summer.
- Help in Thailand. The Egyptian Embassy is in Bangkok.
