Argentines in Thailand 2026:90 Days Visa-Free & TDAC Surnames

Visa rules, TDAC arrival card, customs, currency, vaccines and embassy contacts for Argentine travellers heading to Thailand in 2026.

Visa Status: Visa Exempt (90 Days)

Entry Requirements

If you hold a passport from Argentina, you must submit a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entering the Kingdom of Thailand. The TDAC replaced the paper-based TM6 form and is now required for all international arrivals — regardless of your visa status or purpose of travel.

As an Argentine citizen, you are eligible for visa exempt (90 days) entry. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. The TDAC collects your personal details, travel information, and accommodation address in Thailand.

⚠️ Common Issue for Argentine Passport Holders

Two surnames in the passport — this is the most common reason for TDAC rejections from Argentine travelers. Our system automatically detects and corrects these issues before submission, ensuring your arrival card is accepted without delays at immigration.

How to Apply

  1. 1Have your Argentina passport ready with at least 6 months validity from your planned entry date.
  2. 2Complete the online form on TDAC.info with your personal details, travel itinerary, and accommodation address in Thailand.
  3. 3Our team reviews your submission for errors and you receive your approved QR code via email before your departure.
  4. 4Present your QR code at Thai immigration upon arrival — no paper forms needed, skip the queues.

Visa Status

Argentine citizens: Visa Exempt (90 Days). No visa application required for tourist stays within the allowed period.

Visa Duration for Argentine Citizens

Argentine passport holders can stay in Thailand for 90 days under the Argentina–Thailand bilateral agreement (unchanged by the 15 Sep 2026 reform) under the current visa exemption. Extensions are available at local Immigration offices.

Flights to Thailand from Argentina

  • Buenos Aires (EZE) → Bangkok (via connection)

Common TDAC Mistakes by Argentine Travelers

  • Argentina has a bilateral 90-day visa-exemption agreement with Thailand — three times the standard 30 days, and not affected by the 15 September 2026 reform
  • Argentine passport has two surnames in MRZ
  • DNI number is NOT needed on TDAC

Auto Gates at Suvarnabhumi: Argentina Is Not on the Announced List

On 17 August 2026 Thailand approved in principle the addition of 31 more passports to the automated arrival gates at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, joining Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong. Argentina is not among them, so arrival is at a manned immigration counter as before. The Thailand Digital Arrival Card remains mandatory either way and has to be filed before you travel.

The 90-Second Version

Argentines make one of the longest journeys to Thailand — 28–32 hours via Doha, Dubai, Istanbul or Addis Ababa — and tend to come for a month or more, often combining several Asian countries. Visa-free days for Argentine passports: 90 days, tourism and short business visits. Where you land: Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Bangkok.

What Immigration Checks on Argentine Passports

  • Yellow fever certificate. Northern Argentina is yellow-fever endemic under WHO rules, so Thai immigration can ask Argentine arrivals for the international certificate; carry it.
  • Onward ticket. Checked by the airline on one-way tickets.
  • Passport validity. Six months from entry.

Your Name on the TDAC

Argentine passports print given names and surname(s) separately and the MRZ keeps the surname segment intact; double surnames appear as PEREZ<GOMEZ and must both be entered in the TDAC surname field. Accents and ñ vanish in the MRZ. The passport number is three letters followed by six digits.

Staying Longer Than 90 days

One 30-day extension is available at any Immigration office for 1,900 THB; the Royal Thai Embassy in Buenos Aires issues Tourist Visas for longer stays.

Practical Notes for Argentine Travellers

  • Money. Argentine international cards work in Thai ATMs but every withdrawal carries a flat 220 THB fee plus your bank's charges; bring US dollars to exchange — pesos cannot be exchanged in Thailand.
  • Time zone. Thailand is ten hours ahead of Argentina; you land two calendar days after a morning departure on most routings — use the local Thai date on your ticket for the TDAC.
  • Help in Thailand. The Argentine Embassy is in Bangkok.
