If you last visited Thailand before 2024, you probably remember the TM.6 arrival card — the small paper form flight attendants handed out on the plane. That form no longer exists. Thailand replaced it with the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), a fully digital system. Here is what changed and what it means for your next trip.

What Was the TM.6?

The TM.6 (also called the TM6 or Thailand arrival/departure card) was a two-part paper form. You filled it out on the plane with a pen, handed one half to the immigration officer on arrival, and kept the other half stapled in your passport until departure. If you lost the departure card, you faced fines and delays when leaving the country.

The form collected: full name, passport number, flight number, Thai address, occupation, and purpose of visit. It was identical in purpose to the current TDAC — the only difference is the medium.

What to Watch Out For

I have an old TM.6 departure card stapled in my passport. Do I need to remove it?
No. The old TM.6 departure card is harmless. Leave it in your passport or remove it — it makes no difference. Immigration officers no longer look for it.
When exactly did Thailand switch from TM.6 to TDAC?
The TDAC system was phased in gradually. The paper TM.6 was officially discontinued and the TDAC became mandatory for all foreign arrivals.
Can I still fill out a paper form at the airport?
No. Paper TM.6 forms are no longer available at airports. If you arrive without a TDAC, you must use a digital kiosk at the airport to file one on the spot.
