THIM App Officially Launched: What Works Now and What Comes Later

Thailand's Immigration Bureau launched THIM on 25 Sep 2026. What the app does today, which services are planned, and what it means for your TDAC.

Arrival Updates

Thailand's Immigration Bureau officially launched THIM (Thai Immigration Application) on 25 September 2026, in an announcement published on the bureau's website. According to the bureau, the app has been available since 1 August on the App Store, Google Play and the Huawei AppGallery. The bureau wants it to become a single place for foreigners' dealings with immigration, from preparing the trip to staying in the country.

What it means for your arrival

  • •Nothing changes for TDAC.info customers. If you use our assisted filing, your TDAC is filed for you and the confirmation arrives by email. You don't need to install anything, but you can use THIM for its deals if you like.
  • •Since TDAC version 2026.10.00 (15 October), the TDAC system can also send your e-gate eligibility result to THIM, and the confirmation email shows whether you may use the e-gates.

What THIM does today

At launch, THIM offers two functions:

  • •TDAC: you can fill in and submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card from your phone. The TDAC website remains available too.
  • •Explore Thailand: privileges and coupons from partner businesses; information on attractions, accommodation and activities may follow later.

When you register, the app reads your passport and its chip by NFC, checks that you are a real person (liveness detection) and compares your face with the passport photo; the bureau says it protects personal and biometric data. The bureau says THIM has recorded more than 600,000 downloads and over 580,000 users since 1 August.

What is planned but not live yet

The bureau plans to add queue booking for immigration services, the Certificate of Stay, extension of stay, the 90-day report and Visa on Arrival at authorised checkpoints. No start dates have been announced. Until these features go live, extensions and 90-day reports continue through the existing channels.

What hasn't changed

  • •The TDAC is still mandatory, and THIM is voluntary. You submit the TDAC within the three days before arrival, either on the web or in the app.
  • •It is the same TDAC. THIM is another channel for submitting the same arrival card, so the usual mistakes (name order, passport number, accommodation address) matter just as much in the app.
